Janetta works from her studio in Edmond, Oklahoma. She enjoys working with composition, shapes and vivid colors in acrylic, mixed media and photography.
Janetta found photography through her father who was a front-line combat photographer in the Vietnam war. Her early exposure (no pun intended) to the love of photography instilled a creative mind and spirit that continued to develop through adulthood. She enjoys working with composition, shapes and colors to elicit a soothing response. She has been a professional photographer for over 15 years and provides her clients with architectural, landscape and business related photographs. Several years ago, as an excuse to spend more time with a friend, she signed up for a painting class taught by internationally renowned expressionist artist, Bert Seabourn. Finding her voice in acrylics, she now primarily works with acrylics and mixed media. She continues her learning experience with Mr. Seabourn and also studies with New Mexico artist, Sandra Duran Wilson. Her New Mexico and Oklahoma heritage is the foundation for the personality of her pieces. She loves to express herself with rich colors and simple designs. She explores contemporary art finding a balance between the real world and the imagined.
